Pink fused alumina is made from metallurgical grade chromium green and industrial alumina by chemical reaction at the high temperature above 2000℃. The product has good stability in high temperature, scouring resistance, erosion resistance and wear resistance. The color of pink fused alumina is pink, and can be used for manufacturing abrasives. Abrasive tools made of it have good durability and can achieve high finish when grinding.The smelting process of pink fused alumina is the same as that of white fused alumina, except that a certain amount of chromium oxide is added in the smelting process, which shows a pale purple and rose color. Due to the introduction of Cr3+ in the pink fused alumina which improves the toughness of abrasives, its toughness is higher than white fused alumina, but its hardness is close to white fused alumina. When pink fused alumina is used for processing materials with higher toughness, the processing efficiency of it is higher than that of white fused alumina, and better finish on the surface of workpiece
